Announcing Mountaineer Baseball Academy

We are proud to announce the formation of The Mountaineer Baseball Academy. Success in any sport requires dedication of the athlete, good coaching and strong mentors. The newly formed Mountaineer Baseball Academy would like to offer your ball player a unique chance to get just that through weekly skill building sessions. These sessions will be hosted by a highly experienced coaching staff and group of mentors that want to help each individual player maximize their baseball skills and have fun learning. The overall focus will be to teach fundamental physical and mental baseball skills to our future Mounties ball players K-8. In addition there may be opportunities to play with other future Mountaineer Players in age appropriate tournaments or practice games.

Who is invited
K–8th grader baseball players who currently attend Elmwood Middle School, Kirksey Middle School, Bellview Elementary, Bonnie Grimes Elementary, Jones Elementary, Lowell Elementary, Old Wire Elementary, Tucker Elementary, Westside Elementary or any student attending a private school but lives in the Rogers High School feeder system.

Where
Rogers High School Indoor Practice Facility, located north of the football field on the RHS Campus. As the spring unfolds we may be practicing on other fields around the area. No Metal Spikes Or Cleats In Field House— Turf Shoe, Tennis Shoes Only

When
Sunday Afternoons is our primary training time at this point but, we will have some periodic position workshop during the week. There may be some practice games that will occur during the week as well. Our first training session will run from January 2011 through July 2011. The academy will be starting January 9, 2011, at the RHS field house indoor facility. The starting time for each age group on the first day of the academy will be as follows:

Age Group Meetings
Kindergarten 2:00-3:00
1st -2nd Grade 2:00-3:00
3rd- 4th Grade 3:30-4:30
5th- 6th Grade 3:30-4:30
7th-8th Grade 5:00-6:00.

Purpose
The Mountaineer Baseball Academy exists to develop and encourage the physical & mental baseball skills of players K-8 in a fun and educational environment, so that the future of Rogers High School baseball is secured.

Cost
Academy fee for 2011 Spring-Summer (January to July) Academy Training Packet is $85 per player.

Discipline Policy
The MBA reserves the right to dismiss any player from the Academy for a determined time period depending on the severity of the incident.
